The old adage that exercise does curb negative thoughts may well be true.  I say that because Monday night I went to the gym for half hour and felt pretty rubbish all of yesterday, went to the gym for a full hour on Sunday and last night and feel much better today and I certainly did on Monday.  So, is it the fact that more exercise does make for a more serene mind than not.  I must admit that when I was in a similar hole some years ago that exercising five times a week for an hour a day did help a lot - but I also think that as I lost weight my confidence grew as a direct consequence so going to the gym was having some definitive results as I could see them physically.
