New Year, New Plans...

Many Happy returns for the new year. 2017 was for lots of people quite a difficult and troubling year, this was the same for myself, however towards the back end of the year, I seem to have started to make some substantial changes to my lifestyle. One of the main aspects of this, is moving out of the self-named 'Surgery' into what can be classed as a ensuite studio flat, with shared facilities for washing my gear - however I do have my own kitchenette and shower - which is a good thing. Just able to pop in there - with guaranteed heating and hot water - unlike the Surgery which towards the end of my time there, had no heating, no hot water and with respect a complete cunt of a landlord (amongst other descriptions of the cunt). This change in my circumstances has also coincided with my busiest period as a DJ, with some 10 gigs in a six week period and with all this change - I have been unwell and not been able to recover quickly. So, some decisions have had to be made, the fundamental one is that I'm stopping all bar gigs with immediate effect - purely because from a time and financial point of view, it's not worth my time to prep for hours for such gigs with little return, and with that time, it'll allow me to dedicate more time to producing which is my number one target for the next 12 months. With that in mind, I've been spending what spare time I've had on numerous YouTube videos looking for ways to carve out my sound, which although seems fun from the outset, is an fucking ball ache, but the end results are worth it. I've put a few tracks up on Soundcloud already, and I've got a few more tracks that are close for me to show to the world, so let's see what 2018 brings. B x

Robert Hood - The Bond We Formed (Slam Remix)

Part of Soma’s 25th anniversary comes probably the most sought after track from the compilation celebrating the milestone. Robert Hood’s seminal track, is given not one but two remixes by the Glasgow duo!

This one brings together Hoods original drums with Slams unique sequences.

My Promo Year Mix 2016

After what was at times a very hard, painful 2016, it does seem for now that I have come out of the hole that I was in for large sways of the past year - I'll try to write a bit more about that in later posts - but as you can see above, following my Mainstream mix of 2016, this is what I've been loving from a more personal point of view, what I've played in my promos, but also what I've loved hearing from the many DJs and producers in 2016. So get on the bike, get those trainers or just get in the fucking car and put this up to 11. This was me, This was 2016.

Roberts' Summer Opener

Apologies for the lack of posting these past few months, will hope that now I have a new iPad Pro, that the posts and more importantly the music gets looked at on a more regular basis - in fact I may do an refresh of what I'm listening to via my You Tube playlists which are on either side of the page - in the meantime, here's my latest promo mix - there has been some feedback, however although I am getting regular gigs - these are normally more private parties and no regular club gigs where I can play a more freeform set. Enjoy B x

We Are All Humans

There's no doubt that the situation in Syria and on its borders is the most pressing issue in the world right now and although some countries and politicians are doing their best under the circumstances - quite simply it is not good enough.

And the issue is not going to go away any time soon.

Dance music has always been at the forefront of showing solidarity with those in need.

And it is under that producers and DJs are coming together to raise support, awareness and much need money for those in need. Next Thursday, in Antwerp - such an event is happening.

For more info, head to the Techno For Humanity Facebook fanpage and through #TFH.

Thank you.

Morning all,

Been doing a bit of track buying today - and to my intense disappointment - this amazing tune by the Cologne producer is still not available for me to buy!

Such a fantastic track, ambient, atmospheric and chilled - it's a track that I've shared on my Soundcloud account some months ago with the hope that it'll get released but alas we still wait!!
